Thrown Weapons


A little known thrown weapon commonly used by the Romans during the 3rd-4th centuries AD.

The spear was a commonly used weapon in ancient warfare. While they were often used in hand-to-hand combat, there were also many designed specifically for throwing.

The axe has always been a multi-function tool and many cultures have used them in combat. Historically, some armies were equip with throwing axes.

Throughout the middle ages, it would have been unusual for a soldier to train to throw a knife in combat. However since most people carried knives, it is easy to imagine that they could have been thrown in the midst of battle.
